HOW DOES THE SYSTEM WORK AND WHAT'S THE CATCH?
There are two systems to choose from our "Deposit Only" Members and our "Complete Booking" Members scheme. We will advertise your Self Catering Property on our website free for life. There are no strings attached to this offer and nothing to pay, your add will include unlimited text, five colour photographs and an availability calendar. You will be able to change all aspects of your advertisement at any time. For each booking that we introduce to you, we will charge you 15% commission for deposit only members and 26% commission for complete booking members. We don't ask you to give us exclusivity on your property for any dates what so ever, you are free to advertise anywhere else you please, after all it is your property! If we don't supply any bookings, you won't be charged a penny, but your property will advertised for 7 days a week 365 days a year for the rest of your life or until you tell us to remove it. You are only charged for confirmed bookings and not inquiries. What do we classify as a booking? "A booking's not a booking until the money's in the bank". There is no catch and you have nothing to loose. The worse thing that can happen is that you will have to pay us commission for dates you had free anyway, and we're not just talking about July and August either. All that we ask is: 1. That you update your availability calendar on a regular basis. 2. That when asked to, you will hold the property for 7 working days on our behalf to allow our clients time to pay us their deposit. 3. That you will honour all bookings made by us. 4. Give us ample notice if you decide to no longer rent your property or the property is for sale and you are moving to another location. When we receive an enquiry for your property we will contact you by fax or email and ask if the dates are still available. If the dates are available, we will ask you to hold the property on our behalf for 7 working days. We will then contact our clients and ask them for a deposit of 25% of the total rental to secure the booking. If you do not hear from us regarding the enquiry at the end of the 7 working day period, you will be free to let those dates yourselves and your obligation to us will be completed. On receipt of our clients deposit, we will deduct our fee of 15% of the total rental and send to your bank our cheque for the remaining 10% and fax or email you with the contact details of our clients. We will then notify our clients of your contact details and confirm their booking. Unless you are a complete booking member, this is where our involvement ends. It will then be your responsibility to contact the client to re-confirm their booking. The final balance will be paid directly to you, by the client eight weeks before their arrival and you can complete the booking in your usual manner. Should our clients who are coming from the U. K. book a Ferry or Eurotunnel crossing with our Travel Service, €8.00 euros will be credited to your account and a cheque sent to you at the end of December each Year. For our Complete Booking Service Members we will continue to correspond with our clients, sending them a general Terms and Conditions notice and a route planner and local directions to your property. The final balance will be paid to us no later than 8 weeks before the clients arrival. The final balance will be paid to our Members no later than one week before they are due to arrive in compliance with French law. The funds will be held in bonded account during this interim period. The reason for this delay in payments is to ensure that any refunds deemed necessary by a cancelled booking can be made to our clients without delay. Please see our Terms and Conditions notice regarding refunds. One week before our clients arrival we will pay into your bank the balance of the holiday rental less 13% of the total rental as the balance of our fee. Should there be any problems whilst our clients are in your property you and they can contact us at any time. Gîtes Direct takes no responsibility for the taking or returning of Breakage deposits. If you wish to charge a Cleaning and Breakage deposit we will notify our clients and the amount will be paid to you on arrival.

But it doesn't end there because we would like to give you some money! When you join Gîtes Direct you will be given a Membership number, for each of your guests who book a ferry or Eurotunnel crossing with us, we will pay you £5 commission. In order for your guests to take advantage of our discounted rates, they will need to quote your Membership number. Our prices at the moment start from £95 return long and short sea crossings.
